Today I went to the local post office to save some money.
My bankbook was full, so a message appeared saying that I had to make a new one to carry over my balance.
However, the design of the bankbook made by the ATM was the same as the other two bankbooks I had, so I asked the teller if they had any other designs, and she replied that they did and lined them up at the counter.
After a while, my name was called and another man handed me my new bankbook, but he said, “Here you go!” in a very threatening voice that scared me.
Now that I think about it, something like this happened before, about 6-7 years ago, but I had completely forgotten about it today.
*I checked the passbook later and found that it was actually from 12 years ago.
No matter what the reason, it’s not good to threaten people.
However, I’ve experienced this kind of thing in various places in recent years. I’m not sure whether the reason is because the times are changing, or because the recession has changed the nature of people, or because of the region, but a world where you have to follow the manual, follow the laid-out rails, live without doing anything extra, and without thinking, is indeed a restrictive and dull world.
When I was a child, my parents were good friends, so it was normal for us to go to friends’ houses in the neighborhood and stay over late at night.
People were open-minded and easygoing.
I was more of a city kid, though.
Anyone who tried to threaten someone to do what they wanted was bound to be a bad person.
Times have changed.
No, it’s not that the times have changed, but rather that the world where people could live freely in a true sense has already disappeared.
I think it will be difficult for people who have to survive in the future.
To be continued
